Din predica Sanctit\u0103\u021bii Sale Patriarhul Chiril rostit\u0103 dup\u0103 Liturghia Darurilor mai \u00eenainte sfin\u0163ite s\u0103v\u00e2r\u0219it\u0103 \u00een ziua de miercuri a Primei S\u0103pt\u0103m\u00e2ni din Postul Mare la Catedrala \u201eAdormirea Maicii Domnului\u201d din Lavra \u201eSf\u00e2nta Treime\u201d a Cuviosului Serghie de Radonej, 9 martie 2011.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

(…) \u00cen cea de-a doua parte a rug\u0103ciunii sf\u00e2ntului Efrem se con\u0163ine rug\u0103mintea c\u0103tre Domnul pentru dob\u00e2ndirea virtu\u0163ilor: \u201eDuhul cur\u0103\u0163iei, al g\u00e2ndului smerit, al r\u0103bd\u0103rii \u015fi al dragostei d\u0103ruie\u015fte-l mie, slugii Tale\u201d<\/em>. \u015ei prima \u00een aceast\u0103 enumerare a virtu\u0163ilor este cur\u0103\u0163ia \u2013 o mare virtute cre\u015ftin\u0103 \u015fi general-uman\u0103, care are o referin\u0163\u0103 direct\u0103 la calitatea vie\u0163ii omului, la starea sufletului s\u0103u.<\/p>\n

Cur\u0103\u0163ia este un astfel de mod \u00een\u0163elept de via\u0163\u0103, care e orientat spre eliminarea oric\u0103rui handicap moral, spre p\u0103strarea integrit\u0103\u0163ii \u015fi plin\u0103t\u0103\u0163ii lumii interioare a omului. Cur\u0103\u0163ia, fecioria, este un mod de via\u0163\u0103 care \u00eel protejeaz\u0103 pe om de deteriorare. Este cu totul ne\u00eent\u00e2mpl\u0103tor c\u0103 aceast\u0103 virtute e legat\u0103 de neprih\u0103nirea trupului, iar \u00eenc\u0103lcarea fecioriei se nume\u015fte curvie sau preacurvie, care distruge \u015fi integritatea vie\u0163ii omene\u015fti, \u015fi omul \u00eensu\u015fi.<\/p>\n

C\u00e2nd adresezi aceste cuvinte c\u0103tre oamenii contemporani, mul\u0163i dintre ei nu pot \u00een\u0163elege despre ce este vorba, deoarece curvia, precum \u015fi preacurvia, au \u00eencetat s\u0103 se identifice \u00een con\u015ftiin\u0163a lor cu con\u015ftientizarea p\u0103catului, transform\u00e2ndu-se doar \u00een unul din modelele posibile \u015fi admisibile de comportament. \u00cencerc\u00e2nd s\u0103-\u015fi justifice modul s\u0103u p\u0103c\u0103tos de via\u0163\u0103, ei afirm\u0103 c\u0103 nu fac nim\u0103nui nici un r\u0103u: cic\u0103, este treaba lor personal\u0103.<\/p>\n

Cultura de mas\u0103, din p\u0103cate, sus\u0163ine azi anume o astfel de pozi\u0163ie a omului, \u00eempotmolit \u00een mla\u015ftina p\u0103catului, dar nu porunca lui Dumnezeu, despre care \u00een Sf\u00e2nta Scriptur\u0103 se spune: nici un desfr\u00e2nat sau necurat… nu are mo\u015ftenire \u00een \u00cemp\u0103r\u0103\u0163ia lui Hristos \u015fi a lui Dumnezeu<\/em> (Ef. 5:5). \u00cens\u0103 oric\u00e2t de sceptic ar z\u00e2mbi aceast\u0103 lume a p\u0103catului \u015fi a desfr\u00e2n\u0103rii ca r\u0103spuns la propov\u0103duirea despre enorma importan\u0163\u0103 a cur\u0103\u021biei, a neprih\u0103nirii, Biserica f\u0103r\u0103 contenire va adresa c\u0103tre oameni cuv\u00e2ntul s\u0103u \u00een speran\u0163a c\u0103 m\u0103car cineva va c\u0103dea pe g\u00e2nduri, va con\u015ftientiza pericolul r\u0103t\u0103cirii sale \u015fi se va elibera de acest p\u0103cat greu.<\/p>\n

Dar \u00een ce const\u0103, de fapt, pericolul? \u00cen faptul c\u0103 necur\u0103\u0163ia trupeasc\u0103 stric\u0103 integritatea personalit\u0103\u0163ii umane, distruge posibilitatea omului s\u0103 tr\u0103iasc\u0103 \u00een acord cu propria con\u015ftiin\u0163\u0103. Orice fel de desfr\u00e2nare genereaz\u0103 f\u0103\u0163\u0103rnicie. Uneori aceast\u0103 f\u0103\u0163\u0103rnicie, \u00een special \u00een cazul\u00a0 preacurviei, se transform\u0103 \u00een via\u0163\u0103 dubl\u0103: una \u2013 \u00eentr-o familie, iar cealalta \u2013 \u00een alt\u0103 familie; despre ce fel de integritate putem vorbi \u00een acest caz? Dac\u0103 unui asemenea om nefericit i-au mai r\u0103mas ni\u015fte resturi de con\u015ftiin\u0163\u0103, el se rupe \u00eentre dou\u0103 familii.<\/p>\n

Dar dac\u0103 \u015fi acolo, \u015fi acolo sunt copii, dac\u0103 \u015fi acolo, \u015fi acolo sunt responsabilit\u0103\u0163i, noi \u015fi vechi? Via\u0163a lui se transform\u0103 \u00eei iad, ceea ce devine cu totul evident cu scurgerea timpului: pe m\u0103sur\u0103 ce omul \u00eemb\u0103tr\u00e2ne\u015fte, patimile cedeaz\u0103 \u015fi tabloul propriului s\u0103u trai reprezint\u0103 doar o via\u0163\u0103 slut\u0103 \u015fi distrus\u0103.<\/p>\n

Ca s\u0103 ne putem concentra energia, capacitatea pentru ob\u0163inerea scopurilor \u2013 fie \u00een via\u0163a familial\u0103, fie \u00een activitatea profesional\u0103 \u2013 trebuie s\u0103 ne p\u0103str\u0103m integritatea. De aceea aceast\u0103 virtute \u0219i se nume\u015fte cur\u0103\u0163ie sau neprih\u0103nire: nu-\u0219i distruge integritatea numai omul care este \u00een\u0163elept, deoarece doar o persoan\u0103 \u00een\u0163eleapt\u0103 \u00ee\u015fi poate p\u0103stra puterea interioar\u0103.<\/p>\n

Cu toate c\u0103 Biserica, vorbind despre faptul c\u0103 lipsa cur\u0103\u0163iei este p\u0103cat, deseori treze\u015fte la oameni ne\u00een\u0163elegere, ironie sau chiar agresivitate, ea nu poate s\u0103 tac\u0103, c\u0103ci aceste cuvinte ale ei, care se con\u021bin \u00een chem\u0103rile Patriarhului, ale episcopilor, ale preo\u0163ilor, ale monahilor \u2013 sunt porunca lui Dumnezeu. Chiar dac\u0103 omul contemporan nu poate \u00een\u0163elege aceast\u0103 porunc\u0103, el trebuie s-o accepte, deoarece \u00eensu\u015fi Cuv\u00e2ntul lui Dumnezeu m\u0103rturise\u015fte c\u0103 \u00eenc\u0103lcarea neprih\u0103nirii este pierz\u0103toare pentru suflet.<\/p>\n

\u00centr-un cu totul alt mod trebuie s\u0103 se p\u0103streze cur\u0103\u0163ia \u00een monahism, deoarece monahul \u00een\u0163elege, pentru ce el \u00een\u021belege de ce d\u0103 f\u0103g\u0103duin\u0163e \u015fi de ce \u00ee\u015fi construie\u015fte via\u0163a a\u015fa, \u015fi nu altfel. \u00cen nevoin\u0163a c\u0103lug\u0103riei mai exist\u0103 o dimensiune important\u0103: monahul \u00ee\u0219i dedic\u0103 fecioria lui Dumnezeu. Este jertfa lui, o jertf\u0103 deloc simpl\u0103; a-\u0163i p\u0103stra inocen\u0163a este cu mult mai greu, dec\u00e2t s\u0103 rezi\u015fti o slujb\u0103\u00a0 \u00eendelungat\u0103 cu \u00eenchin\u0103ciuni, este cu mult mai complicat dec\u00e2t s\u0103 m\u0103n\u00e2nci doar p\u00e2ine \u015fi s\u0103 bei numai ap\u0103. Monahul se d\u0103ruie\u015fte Domnului ca o jertf\u0103 curat\u0103, neprih\u0103nit\u0103 \u015fi, ca r\u0103spuns la aceasta, el ob\u0163ine puterea harului, uneori chiar putere supranatural\u0103 \u2013 capacitatea a vedea \u00een sufletele multor oameni, a aduce \u00een acele suflete \u00eemp\u0103carea, a da sfaturi \u00een\u0163elepte.<\/p>\n

Adres\u00e2ndu-se Domnului prin cuvintele cuviosului Efrem Sirul, s\u0103-L rug\u0103m s\u0103 ne d\u0103ruieasc\u0103 \u015fi puteri pentru p\u0103strarea virtu\u0163ilor cerute. Iar c\u00e2nd din sl\u0103biciunea firii, datorit\u0103 ispitelor \u015fi tenta\u0163iilor pe care le aduce lumea, noi \u00eenc\u0103lc\u0103m poruncile Lui, s\u0103 ne rug\u0103m ca Dumnezeu s\u0103 ne dea acea putere a sentimentului de poc\u0103in\u0163\u0103, pe care El a d\u0103ruit-o marelui David, \u00eemp\u0103ratului \u015fi psalmistului, \u015fi multor sfin\u0163i ai lui Dumnezeu, care au trecut prin c\u0103derea \u00een bezna p\u0103catului \u015fi ridicarea \u00eempreun\u0103 cu Hristos Cel \u00cenviat pentru via\u0163a de veci.<\/p>\n

Fie ca zilele sf\u00e2ntului Marelui Post s\u0103 ne \u00eent\u0103reasc\u0103 \u00een virtutea cur\u0103\u0163iei, \u00een urmarea con\u015ftient\u0103 \u015fi ra\u0163ional\u0103 a poruncii lui Dumnezeu s\u0103 nu fii desfr\u00e2nat<\/em> (Ie\u015f. 20:14), cu \u00een\u0163elegerea deplin\u0103 a faptului c\u0103 noi \u00eendeplinim nu prescrierea omeneasc\u0103, nu legea omeneasc\u0103, dar porunca Dumnezeiasc\u0103.<\/p>\n
